Shimi

Shimi is a social robotic musical companion that can analyze music and respond through a variety of dance gestures. A number of applications have been developed for Shimi including responding to natural language and using an emotion-driven voice.  The technology for Shimi was licensed to a startup company, Tovbot Inc. where he was a TechCrunch Disrupt finalist, and featured in venues such as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Shimi is currently being redesigned to allow deaf and hard of hearing to experience and enjoy music though tactile and visual stimuli.
