Shimi
Shimi is a social robotic musical companion that can analyze music and respond with a variety of dance gestures. A number of applications have been developed for Shimi including responding to natural language and using an emotion-driven voice. The technology for the robot was licensed to a startup company, Tovbot Inc. Shimi was a TechCrunch Disrupt startup competition finalist, and was featured in venues such Google IO as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The robot is currently being redesigned to allow deaf and hard of hearing to experience and enjoy music though tactile and visual stimuli.
